Some of you may remember an earlier subject on seat runners.
Rob R. and myself referred to the manufacturer of these seat runners: Hallam, Sleigh & Cheston of Birmingham UK operating under the name Widney. .
Looking for further information related to my seat runner problem, much to my surprise I found that Widney is still alive and manufactures all kind of metal parts, including “telescopic slides”. Although these slides are positioned vertically instead of horizontally as for our Jaguar seat runners, the basic principle is still the same (after 70 years).
Unfortunately these slides are telescopic with 3 or more parts. See the cross section of one of their modern slides and you will still recognize the seat runners of the XK 120/140/150.
