[xk] Budget lock key

HI Roger P. The key that came with my FHC is identical to the photo in the
gazette-except-mine has the number 6700 or 8700 stamped in the flat .I have
no reason to believe it is not original, but, one can never know, I guess.
Got any ideas? Cheers, Rex

Rex,

I do appreciate your feedback. So far with all the articles I have written
on Tools in XK-Gazette, I have received virtually no feedback as to detail.

Would love to get a photo please. No opinion at this time, except just
because I haven’t previously recorded this number stamping, doesn’t exclude
it from being original. What is chassis # of your FHC?

Roger

Hi Roger-the FHC # is 679406, Feb 52 build date and an early car-all numbers
match, no studs up front on the cam covers, and I have some of the original
tools that came with the car. Just did a 200 mile trip for breakfast this
AM. I am the 3rd owner and I bought in 74, or 75 from second owner. I will
try to get a photo for you, but I am haveing a bit of a problem making the
new digital camera download and send stuff. The stamping number looks??
like something from the Jag factory of that era.It is identical otherwise to
your photo and description in the gazette Cheers, Rex----- Original Message -----
