[xk] Could there be an XK-150/C

Does anyone think it is possible to mount a C-type body on a 150 chassis.
The question that begs to be asked is, “Why would anyone want to do that?”
The possibility is probably revolting to some, and intriguing to others. I’m
just curious.

Rob,

I am sure you know that the C Type did not have a conventional XK
chassis, so I think the amswer is yes, but …

Probably be easier on an E-type. I believe the C and D types had a
picture frame front similar to the E-type. Otherwise, use a Ford
Pinto chassis. Easier to find and cheaper than a 150 chassis:-)

Well, the C-type chassis, despite using regular XK120 front suspension parts
and rear axle, is not remotely like the chassis frames in any of our XKs. So
the answer is probably No, at least in the normal quick-n-easy bolt-on
sense.
However, the Devin fiberglass body was available in 22 combinations of
wheelbase lengths and widths for whatever chassis the customer had, and
could in theory have been fitted to an XK chassis. I tried searching but
this is the closest thing I found.

This is Bill Devin’s own tube frame with XK engine and gearbox.

So if you have a rolling chassis, this is one thing that could be done with
it.
