Does anyone know about the C5258 junction box for engine harness (Lucas)
that is supposed to be only on 671797-671878 and 679222-679315,
according to page 88 in the parts catalogue?
It is a round bakelite thing with 4 plug screw terminals inside and a
cover held by one screw, mounted on the firewall just in front of the
wiper motor.
What is the C5260 engine harness, also found only on those cars?
My car 679187 has the mounting holes and marks in the paint indicating
this box once was there. I have heard from someone who has 679190 which
apparently also has it. Was there an earlier engine harness that is not
listed in the PC?
No interest in it, just thought you would want to know.

Yep, that’s it, but there are variations. I believe the model 2J means
two junctions or terminals inside, and I know there are larger 4J and 6J
varieties. They have screw terminals inside just like on the voltage
regulator.
Is the XK120 supposed to be a two, four, or six terminal box? What is
the “engine harness”? Do earlier cars have a separate engine harness
that is joined to the main harness somewhere near the wiper motor,
either by one of these junction boxes or perhaps by bullet connector
sleeves?
