[xk] Re: limited XK content

My 140 continues to run so well, I’ve kept a low profile on the list while
others ask the questions and make headway on their projects. Other
adventures are waiting for me. I retired three months ago and have spent the
time preparing for the Baja 1000 Off Road Race this month Thursday the 18th.
Our little lime green Baja Bug is hard to miss against the dust desert
terrain. This year the course is a loop starting, and finishing, in
Ensenada. 709 miles and 30 hours to complete to be considered an official
finisher. So much of the knowledge I’ve acquired from working on the Jag has
come in handy on this project. There are a few extras like a color GPS,
radio’s, oil coolers, air pumps and enough lights to light up Mexico. Think
of a VW bug on steroids and you’ll get an idea of what this thing looks
like. I’m leaving tomorrow morning to meet the chase crew and co-driver in
San Diego. It will be aired on TV Dec. 3rd.
Not to be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor
defeat, we’ll be in the thick of it, beginning to end, wherever it may be.
