[xk] Round disc brake pads

List members; Continuing with the restoration S830318 (early '58 OTS),
I’m wondering if the early 150 round disc brake pads calipers can be
restored? Has anyone used one of the commercial brake part restorers,
like White Post? What should I do with the hand brake parts? Jerry

Greetings Gerry:

 As far as I know, both 'XK's Unlimited' in the west and 'British

Auto/USA’ in the east, carry seal kits and pads for the early 150’s as well
as the emerg. pad sets— all usual disclaimers , and there are likely more
suppliers of these parts. Apparently the later easily replacable square pad
set-ups can be used with a change to the later calipers as well though.

I have some names of pad suppliers as well–if you need addresses etc.,
contact me ( perhaps off line).

Jerry;
I had my round pads redone by by XKunlimited, however I don’t know if they
work as the car will not be on the road for about another six weeks.
