[xk] XK 140/150 Driving Lights

Does anyone know what brand and size driving or fog lights were
typically used on XK140 or 150s? Lucas, Corello, Cibie or ?

Thanks,
Dick Cavicke

Dick, According to my records the 150 if fitted with such lights at the
factory had Lucas. Model SFT/576 (Fog) and SLR/576 (Spot). Refer to a
brochure on the Jag-Lovers site.

I have acquired both fog and driving lights for the 120, but I don’t know
how to switch them. I asume the bundle of wires on the right side of the
radiator will power them, but how were they controlled?

Hi John,
I cannot speak for the XK-120, but my XK-140 has a single wire (without any
break) that extends from the switch to the lights. No fuse either. The
normal body harness doesn’t handle the fog/driving lights. Call Rhode Island
Wiring or another vendor. They will have the correct single wire “harness”.
The dash switch has an extra detent for the fog/driving lights. Note also
that when the driving lights come on the headlights are supposed to go off.

Mike,

Thanks for the response and good advice. I will contact RI. Wiring,
hadn’t thought of them. How do you feel about an un fused straight run?
But, it’s probably been just fine for 40 years.

Cheers, John M.
