XK150 Brake servo

This may be a dumb question, do all XK150’s have a brake servo!!!, Mine doesent.
Cheers Phil

Hi Phil,
I believe so. Some of the 150’s don’t have a vacuum tank .

Slightly more humorous answer…Should all 150s have a servo? answer yes. Do all 150s have one? answer no.

Phil Have you inspected the LHand wheel arch cavity, an upper metal panel has to be removed to visibly see the servo., servo tanks were installed around 20th Dec 1958,on the OTS.
If your car is a very early May 1957 car it may have had drum brakes with no servo. Very unlikely though.

mine is a 58 roadster and does NOT have a Vac tank , but is disk brakes

Thanks Roger/Phil. I thought so. I’ve just found the vacuum tank under the wing.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions, I removed the old panel and vac tank stone guard and found the PO had installed a new servo and tank,Not sure why it doesn’t work properly, I’ll check the vacuum valve and the inlet manifold valve, maybe that’s the problem. Many thanks. Phil
