XK150 - Can anyone identify this?

Can anyone advise me on what this is. My XK150 has deposited on the garage floor when I started it yesterday? I can see the fan belt is now off its pulley wheels.

Hard to determine the size but it looks like it might be part of the harmonic balancer. The fact the fan belt is off the pulley sort of points in that direction. And welcome to the forums.

What is it’s diameter?

It’s about 9” diameter and (perished) rubber

Headlight dust seal??

For me sure a part of the harmonic damper. Was the belt broken or just of the pulleys: forced the rubber part it of the pulleys or are even the complete damper sections loose?

A rubber piece that big must be from the damper (harmonic balancer) on the front of the crankshaft.
If that came loose it would certainly knock the fan belt off the pulley.
Here’s what a broken one looks like.

If you can get the loose steel ring part off, you can put the belt back on and drive it as far as getting it onto the flat bed truck.
If you can’t get the steel ring off, better not run it at all, as it’s about ready to let loose and would cause a lot of damage.
Definitely don’t run the engine long until you replace it.
