XK150S throttle linkage return spring?

Installing the rebuilt carburetters on my 1958 XK150S LHD OTS a question has arisen.
Should there be a return spring somewhere on the accelerator/throttle linkage or are the three throttle return springs on the carbs supposed to do all the work?

The three springs are the standard set up on the 150 S.
