1982 XJS HE v12 Engine

My 100 year old dad sold his 1982 XJS HE v12 a few years back. He has a full spare v12 engine.

What are your thoughts on this? What should he do with it?

Hi- if you go car-part.com you can see junkyard ask prices for XJS engines. I see them ranging from $100 to $1250 with the most around $500-range. I’d throw it on Craigslist for $500, and take $300. I don’t use it, but hear Facebook marketplace has overtaken popularity of Craigslist.

Thank you kindly, John. I’ll check all of those out. Hopefully somebody out there will benefit from it.

May help here if you included your location (city, state) if anyone was interested.

This is an international list so I have no idea where in the world you live. If you live in the North America, I recommend that you go to the Jaguar Clubs of North America website, find the nearest club to you (there are about 70 clubs in the USA, Canada, and Mexico), contact that club leadership, and see if you can post an advertisement in their newsletter. Perhaps someone nearby is looking for an engine.
