There’s a vent, somewhere, also possibly, through the fill tube.
I have, on past difficult diffs, filled back through the drain plug, with a kloodged-up filling cork, then QUICKLY slammed the drain plug back in.

My zf tranny on the xk8 has no fill tube. Is there one on the xkr zf trans?
I’ll be damned. I wouldn’t have know! I am very relieved by this. Thinking it was a sealed system! I just found this!
That means what moisture remains will have a place to go, as steam and evaporation…
Why in Dread Cthulhu’s name, would someone think it’s a good idea to vent into the bell housing??
