Lets build a 1967 e type together

I’m going back to Autosport tomorrow
They have these Porsche hoses for that purpose
Maybe the German technology will make it faster
Having fun…
Will report back.

Dialing in the last details…
Okay FAN RELAY…
Ive always used my Hayden adjustable with the probe, the newer fans draw and spin ALOT faster, Im blowing fuses and it comes with a 25 amp fuse.
CJ uses HELLA 007794301 WHICH i WILL TRY TONIGHT INSTEAD
This is the same set up as my red 66
Qustion, my 12 volt feed from post, Im running a 25 or 30 amp fuse?
Im running 12 gage wire to fan and feed. 14 gage to otter switch.
Any thoughts.

You have a short to earth somewhere. The stock Jaguar fan draws about 6.5A and a Coolcat modern fan draws 6.8A. A Kenlowe draws about 20A and the Hayden 17A so blowing a 25A fuse is unlikely even at startup. Replace the fan with a 12V bulb and see if the fuse still blows. If it glows then the problem is with the fan.

To be honest the Coolcat is the better option as its current draw is significantly lower than everything else, which comes under the heading of ‘a good thing’!

Thanks David…
For now Im going with the hella relay, a 30 amp inline as per them
My old hayden which I love couldnt keep up on the kick in when hot.
I grounded everything with the same effect.
It should be fine if not , cool cat is next.
Thanks
will have pics in a bit.

Second-best thing I ever did to Tweety!

It’s runny cold just blows the fuse
Cool at Ron Davis are a huge improvement
Will have pics in a bit

You need to spreek Engrish!

Larry, thats the problem he was

…and I though my Brooklynaise was bad…

Terrible with the text and internet im on a lap top now…
The car runs cold and doesnt overheat , it just blows fuses with the draw from the fan.
Im almost done, Im using the hella relay and a 30 amp inline fuse.
Double check the grounds and it should be fine.
Its 100 degrees in New York, terrible internet and alot of power outages.

Where do you obtain a 3.08 from? New build or used from another model of Jag?
I am at the IRS rebuild stage of my restoration and don’t want to miss an opportunity to ‘upgrade’ if its easily achieved. Gearbox is going to be reconditioned to

I had my 3 07 :grinning: with glasses on swapped gears
The rear was a natural 3 54 in the states
So I happened to find a factory set ring and pinion nos
They do make the gear set supposedly they are tougher to get set up correctly.
Others have stated that there’s differences from series 1 to 2 so keep that in mind
I had quantum mechanics do mine in the states
Another last of the guys that when he dies there aren’t many left.
Personally with a 4 speed 0 to 85 it’s just a pleasure
I’m not doing more than that any longer even on long runs I’m pacing at 70ish
IMHO. Do it! … you drop about 400 rpm in top gear just enough to make thing pleasurable.

Phillip, it’s an easy swap for an experienced rear gear shop. Especially if you bring the diff to them. The Jeep community is a likely place to look for parts and expertise, if you don’t have that E Type expert nearby.

I did mine myself, and I know just enough to be dangerous .

The long gear highlights and complements the flexibility and torque of the Jaguar engines. As Joey said it transforms the car. The slight loss in acceleration is an acceptable trade IMHO. Honda Accords are still quicker, but I can top end them!
Who really cares, right?

So important to address the whole wave-particle duality when picking the right shims. Was the mechanic’s name Schrödinger?

I can tell you his name, or his address, but not both at the same time…

I thought it might be Heisenberg, but I’m uncertain.

As another very satisfied 3.07 user…yes.

yes, but would you trust him to work on your cat? It could go either way.

I see what you did there…
