I have a 1978 xjs and the wiper motor doesn’t work when I checked the motor everything in worn out. Not wishing to buy a 2nd hand lucas motor can I just do a straight swap for an electrolux there is one on ebay at the moment quite cheap.
Rex, bring us some photos of your assembly (including plug) so we can advise. Taking British workmanship into consideration, probably - you can mix your bit with old fridge and vintage desktop fan - to make it work as new…
Here’s a writeup on retrofitting the Electrolux system to Lucas equipped cars. I’ve done it twice. The hard part is finding the correct intermittant wiping relay, but they do pop up on ebay occasionally.
