Does your car have the side repeaters in the front wings?
If so, the problem is probably a high resistance connection in the bulb socket caused by corrosion

The problem with your indicators is not the BFM.
The unit which controls the indicator flash rate is the CPU.
It is so designed that, unlike the old ‘hot wire’ flash
units which flashed the remaining external lamps at double
speed if one bulb was out, when one of the bulbs is out or
that bulbs circuit is high resistance (as in the case of a
corroded bulb socket / ground) the dash indicator repeater
