What Pioneer radio

what radio is fitted to the 1982 XJ6 4.2 Ececutive?

Jaguar specific, and not very good…

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you.
I am in South Africa, and my Series 3 has a factory fitted Pioneer KEX 60 component system with Pioneer Amps. The front speakers ct in and out. To change the system means finding the amps,
tracing the speaker wires and extending or replacing them. I have another Pioneer KEX31 head unit.
I am not sure I can just connect it in.

Never heard of Pioneer nor Amps fit by the factory on the XJ.
I have the V12 VDP, i.e. the top of the line and had none of that.
I would be very curious to see it.
Must be an aftermarket installation, the original head unit is like the one on the photo below (from the internet), I don’t remember what brand it was as it’s long gone…

Just remove the old one and compare the sockets. They are of the same era, normally they should be the same.

This Pioneer system is definately after market. The amps were just stuffed under the carpet at the console side. Wires badley connected, spliced into harness and taped up. I am removing everything. I will fit another system, maybe Sony or Kenwood.

This is what I did:
